Letter #10- Being Rejected is Success!

November 17, 2014

Hello everyone!

Hope you have a great fall and getting excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

This week has been a hard week, but I am seen success!

One day, my companion and I was going to see a Part-Member Family when we saw a lady shoveling snow off a driveway. "Let's go talk to her." I told my companion. We walked over and introduce ourselves to her. Her name is Kathy, and she was shoveling her neighbor's driveway. It was so kind of her. We talked with her for a bit, then she said, "You know what. . .I met Missionaries before, and I am not interested." We said, "Well, have a good day!" She said thank you and we went to see the Part-Member family. Then my companion had an idea. She told me to go home.
We went home and we got a snow shovel. We went back to the neighborhood where we last were, and told her, we want to help! "Oh thank you!" She exclaimed. My companion wanted to test me, so she was silent as I talk with her. I asked how long she lived in Shelley; I asked about her family; I asked if she worked. As we talked and I got to know her, I asked about her religious background. Then I told her a short introduction of the Restoration, and invited her to be baptize. She said, "You know what. . .I don't believe in your words, but I appreciate you for inviting me." We stayed longer to help her finish the driveway and talked with her to get to know her. Then we told her that we had to get to an appointment.
But I love being a Missionary, especially when we get rejected personally.

My companion and I have seen so many Miracles this week! But I am running out of time! I will share them with y'all next week!

So excited to hear about the Phoenix Temple Dedication! Hope you all find opportunities to do more Missionary work with the beautiful sight of the Temple!

Love ya'll,

Sister Hatch.
