Letter #25- I Don't Know What To Title This As!

March 23, 2015
Dear Everyone,
It has been a wonderful week!

Sister Ikimau and I talked with everyone, literally! We contacted a few of our referrals and a lot of them said, "that they weren't interested" or "I would like it if you would respect that you don't talk to us again". We were walking from the Church Building one day, and an older man was standing out in his front yard. We waved at him and said, "Hello!" He waved back. Sister Ikimau and I walked up to him and he was telling us he left the Church. He just got lazy. But both of his sons went on Missions and they are fully active. This man named is Chuck! We talked about hunting! Chuck said, "I could just go on for hours about hunting! But you ladies, stop by anytime I am outside!" We left him our number and left.

On Wednesday! I got to see a friend from Arizona! It was so good to hear from them! I enjoyed every minute with them! :)
Sister Ikimau and I got back to work. We had a set lesson with a ten years old girl and her Grandma. I stepped up the porch and the Spirit just left. I froze and I said to Sister Ikimau, "Sister. . .I don't feel good about this. . ." I slowly was stepping back as Sister Ikimau tried asking me, "What do you mean? Sister! Sister! You don't feel good?. . ." The front door opened and Ayla, the ten years old invite us in. What could I do now? She opened the door and I can't leave! There was people outside. Sister Ikimau went in and I followed. But right then, the Spirit slowly came back. Ayla and her Grandma was there, we taught the Plan of Salvation, then closed with prayer.
When we left the home Sister Ikimau asked, "What just happened?" I shook my head, "When we walked on their front porch. . .the Spirit. . .it just left!" "The Spirit just left?" She kept asking me a few times. I said, "Yes! And I don't know why!" It was an incredible experience! I still don't know why the Spirit left, but it was an amazing experience!

We have a baptism date! His name is Anthony! His wife is a less-active and they have a fifteen months old, named Ebony. Anthony is slowly giving up on smoking. We started a fast with him, we were going to go a whole day without sweets or music. When we broke the fast, Anthony was tempted. He was fine for a few more hours, but then he started again. He is doing so good though! That's all he has to do. Give up smoking.

I'm running out of times! I want to leave by bearing my testimony.
I know my Savior loves me. I am grateful for the love He has and that He is the Redeemer. He atone for our sins and sorrows, but I know we can be fully clean and healed through the Atonement. I know He wants all of us to return to our Heavenly Father. I know that Family are together forever! I am grateful to have a family! I know they love me and I want them to know that I love them [no matter what!] I am grateful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost, and I know that the Book of Mormon is true! That as we read it everyday, we will feel His love and be protected from the adversary!

Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,
Sister Hatch.

Letter #24- I Learn From My Companion

March16, 2015
Aloha Everyone!

Okay, this week has been wonderful! I feel happy!

On Monday, we met a woman in an Apartment Parking Lot. Sister Ikimau and I walked up to her and introduce ourselves to her. We were talking with her for a little bit, then she started bashing with us. She kept telling us that we should not be on a Mission unless we know all details and the History of the Church. Sister Ikimau testified a lot, every time I was about to say something she interrupts! Our curfew hour was getting close, but she wouldn't let us go! I finally said, "Well Noel, it was nice to meet you," Sister Ikimau asked, "When is there a time we could come back and talk with you about the Gospel?" She then raised her voice, "NO! You don't know what you're teaching. . ." She went on, and oh my! I was emotionally drained by her! But it was such a great experience!

Sister Ikimau and I were about to cross a busy road, waiting for cars to pass by. Then a teenage girl came from the corner of the street and we talked to her. Her name is Desirae. We asked if she ever met with Missionaries, she said, "No." We briefly talked about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon. Then she mentioned that her Dad passed away about a year ago. Immediately, Sister Ikimau pulled out the Plan of Salvation pamplet and started to talk to her about that. We asked if she was willing to learn more, she said "yes!" We got her address and we're gonig to stop by sometime this week!

Okay, there's an investigator named Stan. He was kind of a basher too. But Sister Ikimau and I testified. He thinks there's no life after death and he gave his opinion about God. All we could do was to testify, we pulled scriptures out, but Stan said, "STOP! Now don't try to get me to change my mind about what I believe! I believe what I believe!" Then he went on a rant after Sister Ikimau said something, "NO! That's wrong! That's a devil in you!" OH MY! We stay silent as he went on his rant. Then the member who came with us stood up and she just spoke! Stan sat there and just looked at her. Then his voice toned, "Well thank you. . .I appreciate that. You are young. . .how do you know all of this stuff?" The Spirit was brought back in the room and we just closed with a prayer. Even though Stan is so stubborn, I have absolutely felt great love for him!

Sister Ikimau and I were going to contact a couple of referrals we got. We knocked on this one trailer house the third time this week. No one answered. So, we went to walk out of their driveway, when we both stopped. Sister Ikimau and I looked at a random trailer house behind the trailer house we tried. It was just sitting alone, and back where many people might miss it. Sister Ikimau said, "Should we try that house?" I said, "Yeah, let's go check it out." We walked over and knocked on the trailer house. A lady opened the door and we said, "Hi! How are you?" She and her grand daughter, Anastasia came out on the porch and we got to know them. There and then Sister Ikimau started teaching the Restoration! I was grateful for my companion's example to do a lesson there and then! We invited Anastasia to be baptized, she said, "Yes. . .in my Church." They were super nice though!

Running out of time!

Love you all!
Sister Hatch.

Letter #23- White-Washing Poky!

Dear everyone,

This week is going to be short since I am running out of time!

I just got ET'd (Emergency Transferred) down to Pocatello! My new companion name is Sister Ikimau! (Icky-mow). . ."like mowing a lawn," she says!
She's from New Zealand and she is amazing! This week has been a little stressful, but I know the Lord will bless us with people who are prepared to recieve and hear about the Gospel!

We had a baby blessing for a Part-member family at one of the ward. Later that day, Sister Ikimau and I went to go visit the family. The Dad is not a member, his name is Anthony. He was working in his yard. We sat with his family in the backyard, and the first thing Anthony says, "I'm thinking of getting baptized!" Sister Ikimau and I expressed our excitement for him, he continues, "After seeing my daughter be blessed and hearing the testimony of others, it made me think that Mormons are not bad after all." Sister Ikimau shared a message from the scriptures and we talked about Family being together forever. We talked very briefly about having family sealed in the Temple for all eternity. We testified and set up an appointment.

I think I have fallen in love with Poky! It's going to be great!

I love being a Missionary! It's the best thing for a short time in our life! I already have a year left. . .oh my! It just flies by! It needs to slow down!

You are all so awesome!

Sincerely,
Sister Hatch
