Letter #7- Heavenly Father Breaks You, To Make You Become Strong!

October 20, 2014
Hey Everybody!

This week has been a great week! It went by so fast!

Last week, we visited a very sweet less active member that lives across from us, her name is Vicky. I admire her courage and she is a true friend to me! We talked with her for a bit, then one of our investigator and her Mom walked in. It's a small town, where everyone is so comfortable to walk into their friends home without knocking. Chantell, our investigator, and her Mom came in and we all talked for a bit. Shortly after, another one of our investigator, Vanessa, walked in. Sister Warren and I had to get going as soon as Vanessa arrived, but we shared with them a scripture and left them with a prayer. I only wanted to share this, because I love these people! I love Vicky and those two girls who are pretty much "under her wings". Chantell and Vanessa are great friend with Vicky, and I love teaching them all together!

Tuesday we had so many miracles! Sister Warren had a prompting to stop by a home that lives across from the Ball Park. We knocked on the door, then immediately, the door flew opened. "Hi!" Sister Warren and I said with a smile. The lady had a smile on her face, "Hi! Come on in!" My whole mind went blank! What!? She's letting us in!? Her living room was small and each corner was crammed with furnitures. But that didn't matter, what matter was the Spirit being the room. She invited us to sit. She had a beautiful Pitbull that went over and laid in between Sister Warren and I. We talked with Michelle and got to know her. I am not going into details, but she had a messed up life. She went to Church when she was young, but then she got into things. My companion and I listened with love. Michelle said she was planning on going to Church in Ammon with a very close member friend she grew up with. It's hard to explain, but that I had a great love for Michelle, and the Spirit was really there! When we closed with a prayer, we asked Michelle if we could come back. She said yes! When I hugged her, she whispered in my ear, "Thank you."

Everyday we have the opportunity to LISTEN to the SPIRIT very CAREFULLY. You may never know who you come across and who lives you will touch or save.

During personal study, I read about the different people from the Bible and Book of Mormon who showed their FAITH! A couple of verses have said how Jesus Christ even show faith! REVELATION IS REAL! Christ is a perfect Being, and He too, even had to show faith! What a great example our Beloved Brother, Jesus Christ is to me!

I LOVE being a Missionary! It's not easy. It was a hard decision to come out here, but guess what? You will find yourself grow as you follow Heavenly Father's way. A young man,who is leaving on his Mission, spoke in Church yesterday. How to be a consecrated Missionary.
1. Obedience. "Change your behavior as well as your nature."
2. Open thy mouth. Talk with EVERYBODY! Everytime you open your mouth you're exercising your faith. It can be as simple as, "I know that family can be together forever!"
LOOK UP - HELAMAN 10:4
3. Focus on Mission. Keep your eyes radiantly on the Lord!
4. Give up your Pride.
5. Give up negativism and sarcasism. It'll show that you can ALWAYS be HAPPY and ALWAYS be smiling!
Even if you don't want to serve a Mission, do these things!

INVITES

Go to the Temple! Prepare some names!
Go the EXTRA MILES! Not for yourself, but for the Lord! Give up all you want to the Lord.

"Applying the Atonement is doing the best thing to have weak things become strong."

Love you all!
Sister Hatch.

Letter #6- Taking the Big Leap of Faith

October 13, 2014
Hello Everyone!

I know changing is hard and scary. But I promise you that if you get out of the comfort zone and overcome your fears, you WILL GROW! You will feel the love from your Heavenly Father! For example, I am learning to overcome my fear of talking to people. I won't be perfect at first, but the more I focus on it, I will be able to overcome the fear of talking with people. Take that big leap of FAITH! It takes courage and integrity! YOU CAN DO IT!

I LOVE being a Missionary! I was talking with Brother Dannehl (Henry) so much about hunting! He's so funny! But the most exciting part about him this week was that he wants to receive the Priesthood! And he's planning on going to the Temple with his wife someday! So excited for him!

My companions and I have been learning from each other and we've been getting along really well! Just got to serve them and tell them that you love them! When you tell somebody that you love them, the more you'll feel it!

We've seen miracles this week! Even by small and simple things! My companion and I wanted to reach the Standard of Excellence in our Mission area. One day we didn't invite anybody to be baptize and we only had one hour left in our proselyting time. We also had to be at an appointment in five minutes. So, we prayed for the opportunity to invite someone to be baptize. We went towards an Appartment complex, then Sister Warren looked up, "let's try this door." We walked up to the door and found out they were already a member. But then all of the sudden we heard a voice in the back, "Yeah, my brother is already Mormon." A young man walked up to the door step. We asked if he was a member, he said, "No." So we got to know him and briefly taught him about the Restoration. Then we asked him, "If you came to know these things were true, would you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized?" He said no, but we were still about to reach our goal.

Also, on Friday we were in Idaho Falls. We met one of Sister Kolbo (our temporary companion) less active, Kimi. Kimi said that she got to watch General Conference, because one of her friend died the last weekend. Sister Kolbo and Sister Warren brought up how reading the Book of Mormon will bring comfort to her. She tried to side track the idea, and continue to talk about how she was feeling sad.

I then said, "Kimi, when my Mom had cancer, I went in my room and prayed. Then I opened up my scriptures. I love the scriptures so much! I brings me such great joy. Whenever I'm sad or feeling discourage, I turn to the scriptures and my Heavenly Father." I love teaching and helping others to come unto Christ!

I was able to go to the Temple this week! I love feeling the Spirit!

Letter #5- Be More Active

September 6, 2014
Hello Everybody!
I love being a Missionary! I just love it! This week has been good!

I forgot to tell ya'll, last Sunday we had one of our investigator baptized! His name is Logan and he is ten years old. He was so excited and couldn't wait for the day to be baptized! Satan really has been working hard on us the week before. They almost had the Baptism cancelled on us! Sister Warren and I prayed and worked harder! We knew Satan couldn't put us down!

My companions and I have been switching from Idaho Falls to Shelley, or from Shelley to Idaho Falls. It have been crazy! My most favorite part is serving people! And walking out in the open road, being able to get in contact with people! I love waving and smiling at cars as they pass by, but sometime we get awkward response back.

On Saturday morning, just before General Conference, we went out to do a Service Project in Idaho Falls! It was a "Cancer Walk" or "Run for the Cure"! They gave us instructions on what we needed to do. I was so excited! I wanted to greet people as they came to sign in. So, every person I could catch, I went up and shook their hands. I asked how they were and asked what their names were. one of the Sister saw me doing this, so she jumped in with me. After getting to know the person a little bit, I simply just expressed my gratitude to them for doing this. My Grandma Barbara  passed away when she had cancer and my Mom has survived cancer. I truly do appreciate those who do these things for those who has cancer!

Then we changed into proselyting clothes and went in the Chapel to watch General Conference. I love General Conference! I just love hearing the speakers! However, after the first Sunday session, my companion pulled me aside. She said some things that have hurt and cut me inside. She have told me that she was impatient with me. She said it wasn't because of me, but because I am too passionate. We talked for a while. I was crying! She told me to be more active, she feels like I'm not growing because I am too passionate. She wants to hear opinions from me, and she have said some things that just hurts. This made me want to go home so badly, but I knew that through Christ's Atonement, I can overcome it. Heavenly Father gave me this companion to strengthen me. I finally told her, "Sister Warren, I am not doing this for you. I am doing this because I know it's what my Heavenly Father wants me to do." silence filled the room. I felt hurt. But, despite the fact that it tore my heart, I knew she was right. Not because she said it, but I have been thinking some similarity on things I need to improve on. For my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. So, be more active! Get up and do or say whatever may inspire you to do so. And it was amazing! After the talk we had, we went to the last session of General Conference, and it was almost just what we talked about.

I was so sad for Conference to be over, but I was also so grateful for the Spirit that was there! And joy among those who were inspired to speak! And so grateful that it could be every six months!

I love my companions! Even though those words she spoke cut me inside, I knew it was the Holy Ghost telling her and I the things I needed to hear. I can't count how many time she have served me. And when I get offended, I do the same to her. I served her, even just by leaving a nice note about things I love about her, secretly in her scriptures or journal, or planner.

INVITES!!!

Invite a non-member or less-active to go to the Phoenix Temple Openhouse/dedication.
(If you don't live in Phoenix area or Arizona, I still invite you to go!)

Be more active in serving than passionate! Not that passion is bad, but it'll strengthen you when you're active!

Hope all is well, wherever you may be. I love you all and hope that you can come closer to Christ by actively involving yourself. Don't forgot to read your scriptures and say your prayers!

Love ya'll,
Sister Hatch.

Letter #4- Priesthood Power!

September 29, 2014
Dear Everybody,

This is real short, running out of time! So sorry!

I have seen Priesthood Power this week! I was really homesick this one day. My companion told our District Leader and his companion. I am so grateful that they told an hour off to come talk to me and give me a Priesthood Blessing! It was so powerful! I remember feeling like I was filled with the Holy Ghost after the prayer. Missionary work is hard work! Harder than you probably can imagine! But it is worth it! Women Broadcast talked a lot about keeping Covenants. Being Missionary is a covenant! You promise God that you will share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who comes in your path!

Alright, I want to invite ya'll to do these work! Share the Gospel and bring Christ in your life!
