Letter #13- I Will Go And Do!

December 15, 2014

Dear Everyone,

I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!

Sister Richins and I went to go see Brother Dannehl! We were talking to him about Priesthood!
I asked him if he gave up on coffee for good, he said, "Well, I don't know if it will last forever. . ."
Sister Richins and I were able to testify how coffee is not in the Celestial Kingdom and that family is what really last forever. He listens and we asked him questions. THE SPIRIT WAS THERE!
By the way, Brother Dannehl hurt himself when he was hunting! He was riding his quad up a steep hill. Brother Dannehl fell off his quad and it landed right on top of him! Oh my! I just feel so sorry for him! He broke some ribs, and he could hardly move right now. We asked him if he would like a Priesthood blessing. After a few moments of silence, he said, "Nick." Sister Richins asked, "Who's Nick?" "My grandson who will be leaving on a Mission." Sister Richins and I smiled. I know that will be something that will help Brother Dannehl and strengthen his testimony to receive the Priesthood!
I am so grateful for the Priesthood! It has such great power in it! I am grateful for my Father, Brother, and Grandfathers who have blessed me and who are worthy to have the Priesthood!
It's so amazing!

More miracles!
Okay, last week one of the Bishop called me while I was emailing letters. Real quick let me tell you background of this story. There's a member in one of our ward who has a non-member wife and daughter. He brings them to Church and Ward's activity. Bishop called, "Sister Hatch, Troy's wife really wants to take a lesson with you both. She is really interested!" We called Brother Adams (Troy) and we set up an appointment with them. Later that week we taught Terry (the wife) and Mariah (his daughter). The lesson was great! Terry asked a lot of questions! At the end Sister Richins and I invited them both to be baptize. Terry said, "Yes." We extended the invitation and set a date on December 27th, Terry said, "Let's take one day at a time." We talked and testify to Terry a little bit. When we left, we set another appointment with her. Later that week, she was sick, and we didn't get to have the next lesson with her. On Sunday, we talk with Brother Adams. He said, "She smokes. We might have to move her date." We talked with him for a while about Terry. He said she thought the date was too soon. But we are so excited for Terry! She is prepared! She wants to get baptize so badly, and I know she will do everything she can to stop smoking. It's a miracle, because. . .well, pretty much everything is a miracle. I just feel this love for Terry! I know we will help and walk with her every step of the way!

Sister Richins and I have been working so great together! I know we can find success as we listen to the Spirit and have this work of unity and bonds! It happen to be a day when all of our appointments fell through. Sister Richins and I get up and we go and do! We don't just sit around, we feel something, and without doubt we'll do it. And if it doesn't turn out well, so what!? It's better to serve the Lord, than to sit around. Anyway, we went to see the Osuampke. She's a less-active and her husband is not a member. It so happened that we caught them home! She let us in. Normally, her husband isn't home, but so happened that he was! We shared with them a scripture that had to do a little bit with the Restoration. IT WAS A MIRACLE! Later that night, we were knocking on a few doors at an apartment. No one was home. We even tried to talk to people out in the streets. We started walking up to this one lady, immediately she said, "I am not interested." We went up to a couple who were unloading there car. "Hi! Do you need any help?" We asked. The man, "no, we got everything." He started walking away and didn't look back. He then said, "We are visiting our son." Sister Richins and I showed interest and asked them more questions, but they went in their home and shut the door. So, we went to try these less-active.
Jonah, a thirteen years old boy, opened the door. His Mom said, "Come in." We went in and sat on the couch and she talked with us. She was telling us how she fell away from the Church. As we talked with her, we soon found out Jonah was never baptized. He told us he wants to get baptize, but then he said, "But I want all my sins to be all gone before I can get baptize." Sister Richins testified a powerful statement that we can be clean and renew our covenants when we take the Sacrament every week. Jonah smiled and his eyes widen, "I didn't know that!" THE SPIRIT WAS SO STRONG! Then his Mom went off topic and talked about False Doctrines. THE SPIRIT LEFT THE ROOM! Sister Richins and I listened to Katie (the Mom) and then testify to her the truth. She disagreed, but we are not going to give up on her! I know Katie will get there eventually. But it was a miracle, because we were able to see it as a blessing. As Sister Richins and I were being obedient, the Lord always provide a way!
Okay, more miracles. . .
Saturday, we had 10 minutes till 9 p.m. Sister Richins and I realize we haven't invited anyone to be baptize that day. We had just ended Basketball with our investigators that night. Just as we were leaving, the Morgan's were leaving the Church Parking Lot. From the top of her lungs, Sister Richins yelled, "HEY! IF YOU CAME TO KNOW THAT THE GOSPEL IS TRUE, WILL YOU FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS CHRIST AND BE BAPTIZE, BY SOMEONE HOLDING THE PROPER AUTHORITY OF GOD!?" Lexie replied, "SURE!"

Brothers and Sisters, Boys and Girls! I love being a Missionary! As we strive to follow His will and be obedient, blessings are shown unto us! I am so grateful to serve a Mission in the IDAHO POCATELLO MISSION! I don't like to see that I'm already out here ALMOST 4 months. It goes by too fast. . .but I am enjoying it while I can! I just LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY and SERVING MY HEAVENLY FATHER, and HIS SON JESUS CHRIST! I love my Savior! I think it's so precious to think, that a little baby who was born in a barn and slept in a manger was willing to suffer in the Garden of Gethsemane and die on the cross for all mankind. It's beautiful!

Love you all!
Sister Hatch.

Letter #12- How Firm A Foundation

December 8, 2014

Hello Everyone!

I love being a Missionary! I love being in Idaho! I love the people I serve!

This week has been amazing! We've seen so many miracles this week!

I don't think I've ever told you about Walter! Walter is a nine years old boy who is getting adopted into a family in one of our ward! He is a super smart kid! He tells everyone to, "Be HAPPY!"
That kid, I tell ya, he's ADORABLE! Sister Warren and I have been teaching him, and he just got baptized! We were all so excited and proud of the decision he made! He is so awesome! We are going to be having New Member lessons with our Ward Mission Leader!

We had an appointment with an investigator, but they were not home. So, Sister Warren and I went across the Trailor Court, to this lady we once met. Her name is Sarah! We knocked on her door, and Sarah opened the door! She let us in and she told us about her life and family. We asked her if we could come back, she said, "Yes! Come this Friday!" Later that week, my new companion, Sister Richins and I went to her home with Sister Steinlict. Sarah ended up not being home, but we left a sticky note on her door and went to go see Stan. Stan is one of our slowly progressing investigator! We read out of the Book of Mormon with Stan. Then Sister Steinlict jumped in and asked Stan if we could come back. Then she pulled a Book of Mormon out of her jacket and extended it out to Stan. Stan try to refuse it, but Sister Steinlict kept it out towards him! He took the Book of Mormon and looked at it for a while. Then he said, "Come back next week."

On Wednesday, I got Sister Richins! I love her! She is so happy all the time!
That day, we asked a member if she would like to come out with us. I don't know why she came to my mind, but I called her. I told her who we were going to see, she exclaimed through the phone, "I know Ben! I know him very well!" So, we picked up the member and went to Ben's house. He had to run some errands, but I asked him question about his relationship with Jesus Christ. He told us his testimony of the Savior, and we told him ours. Then Sister Richins pulled out the Book of Mormon. She explained very briefly what it was. Ben said we could come back next week. It was amazing! The Spirit was there! Oh, I love being a Missionary!

Later that night, we went to see Michelle. Michelle let us in her house, when we sat down she straight up told us that she doesn't want to do this. We asked, "Why?" She explained. She said she has been going to Church for her sister's baby blessing. Tears then filled her eyes, "I don't know why I am crying! But this is what happened when you (she pointed at me) were here last time!" We listened to her with love. When we left, I was sad  for her, because I felt great love for Michelle! I knew that God love her, so did I. But I know that Michelle will come around to it someday.

We saw the Morgan's family! They're 11 years old, Parker, is so sweet! We read out of the Book of Mormon with him, his brother, Dakota, and their step-sister, Jessica at the doorstep.
At the end, Parker jumped up and down, "I want to say the prayer! I want to say the prayer!"
He really love having us over and he love learning to become more like Christ!

Okay, we had an appointment with Tom! He's been going to Church and praying by himself! When Sister Richins and I invited him to be baptized, he said, "When I come to know it was true, yeah, I would get baptized." We extended a baptismal date and he said, "No." But Tom is really nice! He love learning about the Gospel! He said he doesn't want to get baptize until he learn all of the religions in the world. But I know we will crack the code with him!

Saturday, we went to Brooke's baptism! She's not one of my investigator. But Sister Warren and I taught her for a few weeks, then we had to give her to the Elders. But I am so proud of her and for the decision she made to follow Christ and walk on Heavenly Father's path!
Later that day, we got a call from an unknown number. I picked up the phone and it was a random lady, named Sarah. She said that she wants us to teach her and her children. I asked her if we could come by next week. We set up an appointment. Then later that night, a member called us and asked if we could teach her friend, who is really interested in the Gospel, at her house next week! Don't tell me those are not miracles! Especially when two random numbers call to ask you to teach them the Gospel!

Okay, ready for some more miracles? Saturday, Sister Richins and I were walking in neighborhood, when we came to some Hispanic Family putting up Christmas lights on their house. We asked if they needed help. They said they were already finished, but the Mom, Annabell talked with us for a while. We got to know her and her son, John really well. Annabell was asking us questions about our Mission. We asked her if she had a religion. They're Catholics, but John has been going to mutual and his friend's Mission farewell, etc! Annabell said, "John is most likely a Missionary in our home! He's gone all the time with his white shirt and tie!" We all laughed and asked her if she would be interested into knowing more. She said, "No thank you. But I would love to have you over for dinner! We can make Tamales!" Sister Richins and I love Mexican food! We told her that we would love to have dinner with her family sometime! We gave them a "He Is The Gift" pass along card. Also, we went to a random house. We knocked on the door and a man opened the door. He said, "Hey!" We said, "Hi!" nd introduce ourselves to him. He said, "All of my family are sleeping right now, but if you would like you can come back next week!" What!? Who does that!? It was so amazing!

We saw Riley on Saturday too! He is 11 years old and he wants to get baptize so badly! His Dad and step-Mom just won't let him go to Church. But we know we will get Riley there someday! He's reading the Book of Mormon and praying! He said he loves to learn about Jesus Christ. He's so sweet and so smart! He's a great kid!

So many miracles on Sunday! We had a couple appointments cancelled on us. So, I told Sister Richins, "Let's go to the Crystals!" Brother Crystal is a less-active, and Sister Crystal got baptized over the summer with her son, Jayden. They are a hunting family! Sister Richins and I walked up to their apartment. Sister Crystal heard us coming upstairs and opened the door immediately. She invited us to come inside. We talked with her and she told us, "Relax. You can be a Missionary in my home. . .but I want you to relax." She said to "make ourself feel like home." We got to know their family a little bit more! When we were leaving, we read out of the Book of Mormon (Moroni 7:41) with them. I asked, "Jayden, why is Christmas so important to you?" He was so ADORABLE! He said, "Because I can get all of the PRESENTS!!!" We laughed with them. Anyway, we told them why we celebrate Christmas and gave them a "He Is The Gift" pass along card. The miracle was that we were able to have a non-member in their home. Sister Crystal's Mom was there, she's a non-member! We met a family at Church who are really interested in the Gospel! It was amazing!

Okay, got to go! Love ya'll!

My new Companion and I!

This is Brooke Sammens! Sister Warren and I were teaching her for a few weeks, then we had to give her to the Elders! She got baptized!

Letter #11- Ironic Black Friday

December 1, 2014
Dear Everyone,

It has been a phenomenal week, but we have been blessed!

On Thanksgiving, our Zone and the Ammon Zone got together to do service in Idaho Falls! It was "Running For The Hungers!" It was so much fun serving people and cheering on the runners as they pass by! It was so much fun! It so happen that I saw a young woman who looked so familiar as she ran right past me! I told my companion, and we went over to see her. It was Anna Jensen! Her and her family were there for Thanksgiving! It was so great to see them, even just for a short moment! :)

Members fed us A LOT! I was so stuffed, but it was fun playing "RoundRobin" with a ping pong set with a family. I realize Thanksgiving isn't the same without your family, but I am so grateful to spend it with those that I still love and care about!

Okay, Friday was a crazy day! It was an ironic Black Firday!
After study, my companion, Sister Warren and I went to make copies of Progress Records. We were car-less, because we were out of miles. So, we walked to the Library and made copies.
We came home for lunch. Sister Warren opened the screen door and started talking to me. She then pushed open the front door and black smoke started pouring out! We couldn't see in the house, it was so dark!
Sister Warren yelled, "RUN!" We started running across the street, I had the phone in my hand, Sister Warren yelled back, "Sister Hatch! Call 9-1-1!" She knocked at the Berg's door as I dialed 9-1-1. Brother Berg went to check the house to see if it was fire. The Emergency number picked up.
Calmly I told them that our house was on fire. She asked for the address. . .it was intense!
As soon as we gave all the information to the Fire Department, we called Sister Martineau (the lady we live with). She was in Idaho Falls and she accidentally left candles on.
Firetruck's sirens was coming closer to where we were, cops showed up, Ambulance. IT WAS INTENSE! Sister Martineau was on her way.
They cleared out the smoke. Firefighter told us, "The smoke choked up the fire. . .the fire didn't have enough oxygen to grow. Mostly it was because no windows or doors were opened."
If Sister Warren and I would have been at home still, we would've been blocked by the smoke and the fire, because we live down in the basement. The candles were by the stairways to the basement. And we would've crawl out a window and wouldn't have thought about closing the window behind us.
Luckily no one was home! It was mostly smoke damage, and we felt so sad for Sister Martineau.
But she had great faith, she was fine with it. THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIKE A FIRE IS BURNING!

Members been helping us a lot! We are so blessed! I am so grateful that no one was home.
So, Sister Warren will be transferred. She's going to Ucon. My new companion name is Sister Richins. I am staying in Shelley and we'll be finding a new place to stay! I am so excited!
I am going to miss Sister Warren. She done great work in Shelley, but I think the Lord is teaching me so much through ALL of these wonderful experiences!

I am so grateful to be here in Shelley, Idaho! I love the people I serve and I am grateful for their service! They are so wonderful!

INVITES:

Sister Hatch.

Letter #10- Being Rejected is Success!

November 17, 2014

Hello everyone!

Hope you have a great fall and getting excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

This week has been a hard week, but I am seen success!

One day, my companion and I was going to see a Part-Member Family when we saw a lady shoveling snow off a driveway. "Let's go talk to her." I told my companion. We walked over and introduce ourselves to her. Her name is Kathy, and she was shoveling her neighbor's driveway. It was so kind of her. We talked with her for a bit, then she said, "You know what. . .I met Missionaries before, and I am not interested." We said, "Well, have a good day!" She said thank you and we went to see the Part-Member family. Then my companion had an idea. She told me to go home.
We went home and we got a snow shovel. We went back to the neighborhood where we last were, and told her, we want to help! "Oh thank you!" She exclaimed. My companion wanted to test me, so she was silent as I talk with her. I asked how long she lived in Shelley; I asked about her family; I asked if she worked. As we talked and I got to know her, I asked about her religious background. Then I told her a short introduction of the Restoration, and invited her to be baptize. She said, "You know what. . .I don't believe in your words, but I appreciate you for inviting me." We stayed longer to help her finish the driveway and talked with her to get to know her. Then we told her that we had to get to an appointment.
But I love being a Missionary, especially when we get rejected personally.

My companion and I have seen so many Miracles this week! But I am running out of time! I will share them with y'all next week!

So excited to hear about the Phoenix Temple Dedication! Hope you all find opportunities to do more Missionary work with the beautiful sight of the Temple!

Love ya'll,

Sister Hatch.

Letter #9- Short on Time

November 10, 2014
Hello Everyone!

Running super short on time. But we've seen Miracles this week!

We are teaching quite a few investigators and a lot of them have Baptismal Dates!
We are a nine years old boy, named Walter Everett. He is so smart and so excited to be baptized!
Every time at the end of a lesson, he says, "Can I get baptize tomorrow at five o'clock in the morning?" And he tells us to BE HAPPY!
He is just so innocent and pure! and he's right, we should BE HAPPY!

We're teaching a 20 years old, James Rippel. We gave him a Church tour, then we felt prompted to go in the Baptismal Font (with no water of course). The Spirit was so strong! I haven't been in a baptism font in eleven years, and feeling the Holy Ghost there as we testify, it was so spiritual!

We gave a Church Tour to a 17 years old, named Nate Johnson. He really wants to get baptize and prepare himself to go to the Temple someday! He is golden!

We're teaching Manny Juan. His wife is active and they have two kids, Corbin and Kiadrianna.
Manny wants to be with his family forever. We've been teaching him the Restoration and Plan of Salvation. He's working towards getting baptize and getting sealed in the Temple next year!

Our Mission President, President Brinkerhoff, encourage us to make this year a "White Christmas".
Our whole Mission is working towards getting a lot Baptism next month. A "White Christmas" because they'll be dressed in white. Then hope for next year another "White Christmas" because they will prepare himself to go to the Temple.

I cried with tears to think about seeing our investigators to go get seal in the Temple. And see them in the Celestial Room. It brings me JOY! I love being a Missionary!

INVITES:

Keep memorizing The Living Christ!

Sincerely,
Sister Hatch.

Letter #8- Am I Putting More In The Lord Than Myself?

November 3, 2014
Aloha!

Sorry, I missed last week. I was out of time! But I will write the report as of last week and this week!

This last week we've seen so many MIRACLES! There was this one day when we were in 10th Ward area, to contact some less-active. Nobody answered or was home. So, Sister Warren and I stopped by at a Member's home. They invited us in and we talked. We shared a message with them and asked them if there was anyone who was willing to hear a message about Christ. They gave us a list of some of their neighborhood.
That night we were able to meet an elderly lady, named Faye. We talked with her, she said her sister is Mormon. Then my companion invited her to be baptized. She said, "I don't know, I'll have to think about it." She is fighting cancer at the moment, but she was an amazing lady! Very strong belief in Christ! We then went over to where an elderly couple lives. The Farnes, who are less-active. They have a grandson on a Mission. They want to meet with us and we're so excited!
We met with them this week and Jack, Brother Farnes, told us that he's not sure if he would join the Church again. His wife is re-activating herself! She has been going to Church!

We have a new investigator, James Ripelle. He is so prepared! He have been to Church with his friend. His friend wanted us to teach in their home. James was so nervous, but we told him our purpose and asked him some questions. When we taught the lesson, he asked questions and listened really well! He was amazing! The Spirit was in the room as my companion and I teach and testified. James cried as his friend shared some personal experience. James commit to read the Book of Mormon and he is going to Church!
The next day, James text us, "Is it normal to get these feelings of peace as I read the Book of Mormon?" My companion and I smiled and replied back. He asked some more questions, but I absolutely love how prepared James is!
This week we went to teach James about the Plan of Salvation. Before we went into the lesson, James pulled out a notebook. He have written down some questions he had over the week. He asked some question that had to do with the Plan of Salvation! Oh, brothers and sisters! It was incredible! He is so prepared!
At the end of the lesson, we asked James if he wants to pray. We kneeled with his friends (family in the home) and he prayed! It was so spiritual! The Spirit was in the room. At the end of the prayer, we looked up at James. He was looking down with tears streaming down his face. Tears filled my eyes and the room was silent. The Spirit was there!

Brother Dannehl! Henry is doing so great! We told him that we will give up sweet and chocolate if he gives up Coffee. Henry laughed, "Okay, I'll give you a hard week to do it. You have to do it over Halloween week!" We laughed, "Okay, sounds like a great deal!"
Henry is doing really great with attending Church's meeting and working his way to be ordained with the Priesthood!

Another Miracle we've seen was Friday! It was about four o'clock, when we had plan to meet somebody in a neighborhood. But we had a name underneath at four thirty. When my companion asked me, "Where should we go, Sister Hatch?" I opened my planner and the name in the four thirty slot came to me, "Let's go see Nate Johnson." This is a young man we haven't met yet. We drove over to his home and right when we were at his door, he opened it. He was just about to leave. We talked with him for a moment. He have been going to Church with a friend! He said he wants to get baptize! We'll be meeting with him next week! We were so grateful to stop by just in time! Just in time to introduce him to the Gospel!

Okay, this one is going to sound silly, but it was a testimony builder. We went to teach one of our investigator, Chantell. She is a teenage girl. We were teaching her about the Plan of Salvation. I was teaching about the Atonement when I LITERALLY OPENED MY MOUTH! My jaws just dropped open. I was just sitting there with my mouth open for about a minute, it felt like five minutes. My companion just sat there with her head nodding. What was I going to say? Then Chantell was so nice, she laughed, "Did you loose a train of thoughts?" We laughed with her. I then finally said a few things about the Atonement, then we left with a prayer.
But I literally had my mouth opened. I guess I was wondering if the Lord was going to fill the words into my mouth. I have a hard time speaking, but I tried my best to share the message from the Lord.

But lately I've been thinking, "Am I putting enough effort in the Lord?" I ask myself this so often now. Am I putting more in the Lord than in myslef?

INVITES:

I was reading from the Preach My Gospel in Chapter 3, Lesson 4: The Commandments.
I read about Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. How it's the day we think about the Lord.
I want to invite you all to read it! Found out for yourself how you can keep the Sabbath Day Holy!

I love ya'll!
Sister Hatch.

Letter #7- Heavenly Father Breaks You, To Make You Become Strong!

October 20, 2014
Hey Everybody!

This week has been a great week! It went by so fast!

Last week, we visited a very sweet less active member that lives across from us, her name is Vicky. I admire her courage and she is a true friend to me! We talked with her for a bit, then one of our investigator and her Mom walked in. It's a small town, where everyone is so comfortable to walk into their friends home without knocking. Chantell, our investigator, and her Mom came in and we all talked for a bit. Shortly after, another one of our investigator, Vanessa, walked in. Sister Warren and I had to get going as soon as Vanessa arrived, but we shared with them a scripture and left them with a prayer. I only wanted to share this, because I love these people! I love Vicky and those two girls who are pretty much "under her wings". Chantell and Vanessa are great friend with Vicky, and I love teaching them all together!

Tuesday we had so many miracles! Sister Warren had a prompting to stop by a home that lives across from the Ball Park. We knocked on the door, then immediately, the door flew opened. "Hi!" Sister Warren and I said with a smile. The lady had a smile on her face, "Hi! Come on in!" My whole mind went blank! What!? She's letting us in!? Her living room was small and each corner was crammed with furnitures. But that didn't matter, what matter was the Spirit being the room. She invited us to sit. She had a beautiful Pitbull that went over and laid in between Sister Warren and I. We talked with Michelle and got to know her. I am not going into details, but she had a messed up life. She went to Church when she was young, but then she got into things. My companion and I listened with love. Michelle said she was planning on going to Church in Ammon with a very close member friend she grew up with. It's hard to explain, but that I had a great love for Michelle, and the Spirit was really there! When we closed with a prayer, we asked Michelle if we could come back. She said yes! When I hugged her, she whispered in my ear, "Thank you."

Everyday we have the opportunity to LISTEN to the SPIRIT very CAREFULLY. You may never know who you come across and who lives you will touch or save.

During personal study, I read about the different people from the Bible and Book of Mormon who showed their FAITH! A couple of verses have said how Jesus Christ even show faith! REVELATION IS REAL! Christ is a perfect Being, and He too, even had to show faith! What a great example our Beloved Brother, Jesus Christ is to me!

I LOVE being a Missionary! It's not easy. It was a hard decision to come out here, but guess what? You will find yourself grow as you follow Heavenly Father's way. A young man,who is leaving on his Mission, spoke in Church yesterday. How to be a consecrated Missionary.
1. Obedience. "Change your behavior as well as your nature."
2. Open thy mouth. Talk with EVERYBODY! Everytime you open your mouth you're exercising your faith. It can be as simple as, "I know that family can be together forever!"
LOOK UP - HELAMAN 10:4
3. Focus on Mission. Keep your eyes radiantly on the Lord!
4. Give up your Pride.
5. Give up negativism and sarcasism. It'll show that you can ALWAYS be HAPPY and ALWAYS be smiling!
Even if you don't want to serve a Mission, do these things!

INVITES

Go to the Temple! Prepare some names!
Go the EXTRA MILES! Not for yourself, but for the Lord! Give up all you want to the Lord.

"Applying the Atonement is doing the best thing to have weak things become strong."

Love you all!
Sister Hatch.

Letter #6- Taking the Big Leap of Faith

October 13, 2014
Hello Everyone!

I know changing is hard and scary. But I promise you that if you get out of the comfort zone and overcome your fears, you WILL GROW! You will feel the love from your Heavenly Father! For example, I am learning to overcome my fear of talking to people. I won't be perfect at first, but the more I focus on it, I will be able to overcome the fear of talking with people. Take that big leap of FAITH! It takes courage and integrity! YOU CAN DO IT!

I LOVE being a Missionary! I was talking with Brother Dannehl (Henry) so much about hunting! He's so funny! But the most exciting part about him this week was that he wants to receive the Priesthood! And he's planning on going to the Temple with his wife someday! So excited for him!

My companions and I have been learning from each other and we've been getting along really well! Just got to serve them and tell them that you love them! When you tell somebody that you love them, the more you'll feel it!

We've seen miracles this week! Even by small and simple things! My companion and I wanted to reach the Standard of Excellence in our Mission area. One day we didn't invite anybody to be baptize and we only had one hour left in our proselyting time. We also had to be at an appointment in five minutes. So, we prayed for the opportunity to invite someone to be baptize. We went towards an Appartment complex, then Sister Warren looked up, "let's try this door." We walked up to the door and found out they were already a member. But then all of the sudden we heard a voice in the back, "Yeah, my brother is already Mormon." A young man walked up to the door step. We asked if he was a member, he said, "No." So we got to know him and briefly taught him about the Restoration. Then we asked him, "If you came to know these things were true, would you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized?" He said no, but we were still about to reach our goal.

Also, on Friday we were in Idaho Falls. We met one of Sister Kolbo (our temporary companion) less active, Kimi. Kimi said that she got to watch General Conference, because one of her friend died the last weekend. Sister Kolbo and Sister Warren brought up how reading the Book of Mormon will bring comfort to her. She tried to side track the idea, and continue to talk about how she was feeling sad.

I then said, "Kimi, when my Mom had cancer, I went in my room and prayed. Then I opened up my scriptures. I love the scriptures so much! I brings me such great joy. Whenever I'm sad or feeling discourage, I turn to the scriptures and my Heavenly Father." I love teaching and helping others to come unto Christ!

I was able to go to the Temple this week! I love feeling the Spirit!

Letter #5- Be More Active

September 6, 2014
Hello Everybody!
I love being a Missionary! I just love it! This week has been good!

I forgot to tell ya'll, last Sunday we had one of our investigator baptized! His name is Logan and he is ten years old. He was so excited and couldn't wait for the day to be baptized! Satan really has been working hard on us the week before. They almost had the Baptism cancelled on us! Sister Warren and I prayed and worked harder! We knew Satan couldn't put us down!

My companions and I have been switching from Idaho Falls to Shelley, or from Shelley to Idaho Falls. It have been crazy! My most favorite part is serving people! And walking out in the open road, being able to get in contact with people! I love waving and smiling at cars as they pass by, but sometime we get awkward response back.

On Saturday morning, just before General Conference, we went out to do a Service Project in Idaho Falls! It was a "Cancer Walk" or "Run for the Cure"! They gave us instructions on what we needed to do. I was so excited! I wanted to greet people as they came to sign in. So, every person I could catch, I went up and shook their hands. I asked how they were and asked what their names were. one of the Sister saw me doing this, so she jumped in with me. After getting to know the person a little bit, I simply just expressed my gratitude to them for doing this. My Grandma Barbara  passed away when she had cancer and my Mom has survived cancer. I truly do appreciate those who do these things for those who has cancer!

Then we changed into proselyting clothes and went in the Chapel to watch General Conference. I love General Conference! I just love hearing the speakers! However, after the first Sunday session, my companion pulled me aside. She said some things that have hurt and cut me inside. She have told me that she was impatient with me. She said it wasn't because of me, but because I am too passionate. We talked for a while. I was crying! She told me to be more active, she feels like I'm not growing because I am too passionate. She wants to hear opinions from me, and she have said some things that just hurts. This made me want to go home so badly, but I knew that through Christ's Atonement, I can overcome it. Heavenly Father gave me this companion to strengthen me. I finally told her, "Sister Warren, I am not doing this for you. I am doing this because I know it's what my Heavenly Father wants me to do." silence filled the room. I felt hurt. But, despite the fact that it tore my heart, I knew she was right. Not because she said it, but I have been thinking some similarity on things I need to improve on. For my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. So, be more active! Get up and do or say whatever may inspire you to do so. And it was amazing! After the talk we had, we went to the last session of General Conference, and it was almost just what we talked about.

I was so sad for Conference to be over, but I was also so grateful for the Spirit that was there! And joy among those who were inspired to speak! And so grateful that it could be every six months!

I love my companions! Even though those words she spoke cut me inside, I knew it was the Holy Ghost telling her and I the things I needed to hear. I can't count how many time she have served me. And when I get offended, I do the same to her. I served her, even just by leaving a nice note about things I love about her, secretly in her scriptures or journal, or planner.

INVITES!!!

Invite a non-member or less-active to go to the Phoenix Temple Openhouse/dedication.
(If you don't live in Phoenix area or Arizona, I still invite you to go!)

Be more active in serving than passionate! Not that passion is bad, but it'll strengthen you when you're active!

Hope all is well, wherever you may be. I love you all and hope that you can come closer to Christ by actively involving yourself. Don't forgot to read your scriptures and say your prayers!

Love ya'll,
Sister Hatch.

Letter #4- Priesthood Power!

September 29, 2014
Dear Everybody,

This is real short, running out of time! So sorry!

I have seen Priesthood Power this week! I was really homesick this one day. My companion told our District Leader and his companion. I am so grateful that they told an hour off to come talk to me and give me a Priesthood Blessing! It was so powerful! I remember feeling like I was filled with the Holy Ghost after the prayer. Missionary work is hard work! Harder than you probably can imagine! But it is worth it! Women Broadcast talked a lot about keeping Covenants. Being Missionary is a covenant! You promise God that you will share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who comes in your path!

Alright, I want to invite ya'll to do these work! Share the Gospel and bring Christ in your life!

INVITES!
Help others to come unto Christ!
1. Invite a non-member, less active, even members friend or relative to GENERAL CONFERENCE!
2. Do the same to go see MEET THE MORMONS in theatre!
3. Highlight a certain way  in your scripture, anytime it refer to Christ's name and make a list of the names on a piece of paper.

Christ's name is referred in many different ways!

Love you guys!
Sister Hatch.

Letter #3- Everyday Everyone Has The Opportunity to Share The Gospel!

September 22, 2014

Dear Everyone,
Real quick, Idaho's tradition is awesome! Spud Day is a day when the celebrate Potatoes and that the harvest is over. After Study time, Sister Warren and I packed our bags with Books of Mormon and pamplets. As instructed from our District Leader, we were to go and talk and teach people at the Ball Park (Where they held Spud Day at). Sister Warren and I went and talked to people. Honestly, I was having a hard time talking with people.
Sister Warren told me that it was my turn to find people. As we walked through the festival, we walked through a crowd of people. I went up to an older lady, shook her hand, and asked what her name was. She just shook my hand, smiled, and walked off. "Okay," I thought, "How am I going to find people?" Sister Warren and I kept walking in the Ball Park. I scanned my eyes for anyone who was sitting by themselves. We grabbed lunch and went to sit at a table. We tried to talk to people, but they were busy and left.
Sister Warren and I got in the Free Baked Potato line. We started to talk to the guy who was behind us. Then the guy in front of us started to talk to us. The man behind us became silent and walked out of line. So we talked with Paul, the many in front of us. We got to know him. His wife is active, he doesn't like the Church. He said that the Church was too difficult for him. Sister Warren gave me the look as if I had the opportunity to testify. I didn't know what to say. It was silent for a while, and I was about to say something, but Paul started to talk some more. Yes, I had my opportunity, but I didn't use it. I was too scared. I have received revelation this week, in Doctrine and Covenants 2-3, but mostly in verse 13. Have faith and confident to speak with the Spirit.
Later that afternoon, they were having something they call "Spud Tug". Where they dig a hole in the ground, and a cement mixer is filled with mashed potatoes. They pour the mash potatoes in the pit. Then they were going to have a tug-o-war over the pit of mash potato. Our Elders signed up. We were going to watch them. Right then we saw our Mission President and his wife! They were so glad to see us, and they watched "The Stripling Warriors" (our Elders) with us. Sadly, they lost! But it was fun! I got sunburn on my arm, face, and feet, and blisters on my feet.
So, Sister Warren and I have been visiting Investigators. I love them so much! Sister Warren and I went to meet one less active name, Henry Dannehls. He was committed before to go to Church. I talked to him about hunting. He loves hunting just like I do! Henry struggle with prayer. So, I left him a sticky note on his TV that said, "Don't forget to PRAY! Pray to our Heavenly Father as much as you love to talk about hunting!" Sister Warren told me that he never really have talked to them before or loved going to Church. But one day, he saw us when he was driving his four-wheeler, pulled up and talked to us. Then he came to Church that next day! He's a funny man! I am so grateful to here in Idaho! The Lord knew the people who I will be in contact with. I just got to open my mouth some more!
Everybody can be a Missionary! Just testify what's in your heart and be interested in others!
Love ya'll,
Sister Hatch.

Letter #2- A Whole New World in the Farmland!

September 15, 2014
Dear Everyone!

I am on fire! I am in Idaho! My companion is Sister Warren. She is a sweetheart and so helpful! I LOVE her!
Some of you Idahoans may know what Spud Day is. It is this weekend in the little town of Shelley. Shelley is my first area! A small town, but lots of people to teach!

The first day, after I dropped my luggage in the member's home, my companion and I went to knock on doors! Um. . .I am going to keep this real short this I am running out of time! So, I apologize!

The first house Sister Warren and I knocked on, the lady opened it. She said she wasn't interested, but we talked with her for a bit, then we went on our way. The second house we went to, a young woman (about 17 years old) opened the door. Her name is Lupita. We gave a brief summary of the Restoration, then my companion nudged me. That was a sign for me to say something that she and I talked about. I invited Lupita to be baptized. She said, "Yes."
We walked all the way down the street. We went over to a small house, knocked on the door, and a woman with an apron opened it. Her apron had her name on it, "Kim". We talked to her for a bit. But she straight up raised her voice, "I don't have time!" Sister Warren geniously asked, "Is there a time we can come back and share this message?" She said Saturday, so we made an appointment with her. Later that night, we went to the Ortiz's home. Juan (pronounce with a K) and Joann were an investigator Sister Warren met before. We talked with them about the Temple. Then one of our member who was with us, Brother Polsen, talked to him about the Restoration. Since Juan was asking all sorts of questions, Sister Warren was able to testify of Jesus Christ. Then she said, "And my companion would like to share something with you." I started, "I know that my Redeemer, Jesus Christ lives. . ." there was a pausing moment. I felt the Holy Ghost strongly and I looked at Juan, "Will you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized?" The Spirit filled the room. He said, "Wow. The way you said that and the way you are glowing, it really have touched my heart." I smiled and waited patiently as he continued, "I don't know yet. I don't if I want to join this Church yet." We talked to him for a bit and left with him a commitment to pray to know if these things we were teaching him were true.

On Saturday, Sister Warren and I went to see Kim. We knocked on her door and she opened it wide. Immediately she said, "Hi. Um. . .I don't know about you, but I believe in Jesus Chirst. I am looking for a Christian Church and I don't know whatever you, LDS do or believe. But. . ." I then said, "Well, we believe in the same Jesus Christ. And we would like to just share a quick scripture and a message." Right away, the Spirit was there. I could tell she had a change of heart. She asked us to come back later this week. Then we left with a scripture and went on our way. My companion turned to me and said, "I am so grateful you jumped in. I was thinking of just leaving right when she opened the door." I love Sister Warren. She was actually the one who helped me know what I could say, but most importantly, to remember to keep the Spirit with me.

I was having this moment where my scriptures were in my right hand. It was facing down where you could see the words on the spine of the scriptures. I looked down at it and I could also see my badge. I had this moment when it was complete silent. After turning away from not having the oppurtunity to teach somebody, after being told, "No" or "Not interested" I was able to look at my scriptures and the badge where Missionaries bear JESUS CHRIST name on, that I did my best. The Lord is blessing me and my Heavenly Father is blessing me. I can do all things through Christ and that I am a part of His army to help others come unto Christ.

I love this Gospel and my savior, Jesus Christ. Running out of time. Write to me! I have time to do that!

Letter #1- "Your Purpose"

August 29, 2014

Dear Everyone,

Hey! I am loving it here at the MTC! Great Spirit to feel and AMAZING experiences!

This week's Subject is "Your Purpose"

Your Purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the end.
This is not just Missionary's purpose, but ALL of our purpose! We all have the chance to invite others to come unto Christ. We can share the Gospel and get the Ward and Stake Members involved!

First day was a little uneased. I didn't know what to expect and it went by so quick! I have four other Sisters in the same dorm with me. Sister Sondrup, Sister Moreland, Sister Smith, and Sister Brimley. I love these Sisters! We all help each other and love each other. They have sweet Spirits and beautiful testimony.

We had to practice teaching investigators. At one investigator, she have lost her baby. A lot of Missionaries jumped up and testified that there is a loving Father in Heaven who is keeping her baby safe. . .and we have testified that there was a loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ atoned for our sorrows. She denied and said that we were wrong! She said that there was no such thing as God or Jesus Christ. I started to cry as I felt sorry for her lost and confusion. Many, MANY Elders and Sisters have tried to testify and explain the Plan of Salvation and that there is a God. But she denied and stopped talking to us. It was so upsetting! I cried for a long time!

Second day was awesome! My companions (Sister Sondrup and Sister Smith) and I went to play frisbee. It was humid outside! We came back, cleaned up, then went to our District's Classroom. We had to have an hour of Personal Study. Our door was wide open and people were being obnoxiously loud. Then Elder Hunter stood up and went to shut the door. WOW! The Spirit was there! It was quiet and I could feel great peace! I was able to know what the Scriptures were saying. At lunch, I saw Elder Moss! He seems really great! OH! The FOOD! The food are WAY better than I thought! But I still miss my Mom and Alisyn's cooking!

Read 2 Nephi, Chapter 27. Specifically verse 6-21. It talks about the Book of Mormon and the witnesses. This might be helpful for those Seminary Students, who are learning in the Doctrine and Covenants.

Later Thursday night, we had a Branch meeting. President Mangum is a funny, but could be serious. He said something that scared me to death! "After spending two weeks here in the MTC, you'll be going back into the real world." What! I have felt the Spirit so great here and I can't imagine being sent back out there after blocking it all off from me. But I will go and do what the Lord hath commanded me (and all of the Missionaries). There will be dirty and sad things, but that is OUR PURPOSE! We need to help others by inviting -- INVITING them unto Christ.

Well, I am running out of time! I will be sure to write to you guys next week!

Love and miss ya'll!!!
Read your scriptures, study the Preach My Gospel, and say your prayers!!
